Welcome to the 2025 Flickline Tour Season!

We are back with our newest iteration, the B-LIne.  We have 4 incredible events lined up for you with some special happenings sprinkled in throughout the year. Without further ado here is what we have cooking for you:

The first thing we wanted to answer was Why?  What does it mean to have a tour and why does it matter?

There are several reasons why Flickline chooses to run a tour each season.  It started with the 5 MDGA majors back in 2014-2016 and evolved from there.  We have always liked the idea of having a small amount of high quality events that prepared our player base for large international events, like Canadian Nationals, Worlds, etc.  A tour gives people multiple chances to compete on different style courses and rewards players for finding a way to succeed throughout the many challenges the season presents.  It also moves around throughout our region so that each area can have players come to them and see what makes their local course so awesome.

Having a tour is a great way to capture quality data.  Although the vast majority of players who play disc golf in our region won’t take part in the tour (best estimates suggest only about 5-9% of active disc golfers in Atlantic Canada will play a Flickline event), the players that do play help drive the growth of the game through trackable data, like distance travelled, economic impact reports (which Flickline does regularly), and course stats.  Udisc is obviously the best provider of data in the disc golf world and you will find a huge bump in course play in the week(s) leading up to a big event.  Tracking this data and showing that people want to compete in well run events goes a long way into getting new courses built.  We have some incredible projects coming up on the horizon and they simply would not have happened without the events we have run in the past.

Not only is collecting this data good for future disc golf growth, it also helps attract sponsors.  Having a tour and showing the wide variety of people who take part help make a case for why sponsors want to invest in disc golf.  The more organized the better.

Over the last decade disc golf in Atlantic Canada has gone from nothing into something. In fact we think our 'something' is pretty special.  The MDGA majors morphed into a 9 stop Flickline tour, which turned into the Atlantic Tour, which is now simplified back into the ‘B-LIne’.  These last 12 years (give or take) have shown us several things, partially that running a tour is tricky and requires a lot of work, and mostly that when run well, people really enjoy it.  So with all of that being said Flickline is happy to step up again this year and try to run a quality series of events that offer our player base something awesome.

So that brings us to our next question, What is the B-line exactly?

The B-LIne will be a series of 4 separate PDGA B-tier events.  Each event will have at least 12 divisions offered: Jr, FA2, MA2, FA40, FA50, MA40, MA50, FA1, MA1, MPO, MP40, MP50.  Each event will have a speciality disc for the winner of each division.  There will also be a season long points total for players in each division.  At the end of the season the 12 division winners (the person with the most points) will win a very special trophy plus a chance to win a custom basket (more details in a minute).

The official B-Line events will be:

Beech Hill, Sackville, NB May 3-4   2 Rounds Saturday, 1 Sunday

This is our 'classic event'. It is a throw back course with universal tee pads and straight forward lines that you feel like you should hit every time! This event has happened in some form since 2010 and we look forward to having it kick off our season every year.

Fundy National Park, Alma, NB May 10-11  1 Round Saturday (24 holes), 1 Round Sunday (24 holes)

This is our 'future of disc golf event'. This is a temp course that gets built for only a few days every year. It is located in one of Canada's most beautiful National Parks. It takes place on the Stanley Thompson design golf course and is a treat for its mix of aesthetic beauty and physically demanding challenges. This event goes a log way to getting a permanent course in a Parks Canada location and we really hope people come out and take advantage of this incredible opportunity.

Kings Pine, Mt Stewart, PE Sept 6-7  2 Rounds Saturday, 1 Sunday

This is our 'present day' disc golf event. Kings Pine shows off intelligent design and resilience. It is the end result of what can happen when you properly fund a course with financial resources, skilled labour, and genuine love. This event really goes above and beyond to put the player first. We have food onsite, a bbq and fire pit going throughout the weekend, places to camp, practice, and thrive as both a human and a disc golfer. We might be biased but we think Kings Pine is the kind of project that changes people's lives. You really should be a part of it as often as you can be.

Ski Wentworth, Wentworth, NS Oct 25-26 1 Round Saturday, 1 Round Sunday

This is our 'dream disc golf event'. Last year we set up a temporary course that highlighted the best features a mountain has to offer. This year the course will be updated to include even more of what makes this place so incredible. We also get access to a full clubhouse, restaurant, bathrooms, parking and warm up areas. Over the coming months Ski Wentworth will be making upgrades to its outdoor facilities so by the time our event rolls around there will be even more to celebrate. We also have some pretty cool secrets we can’t wait to share with you about this event… but you will have to wait for now.

Who can play, and how do I register?

There will be two separate ways to register.  The first will be to purchase a season pass from Flickline.  We will be offering 65 Amateur, and 15 Professional season passes starting today.  Cost will be $222 for all Amateur players and $287 for Open players. The season passes will be on sale from now until May 1st or until all 80 spots are sold.

To secure a season pass you can e-transfer laughingbenjamin@gmail.com. You must include your name, PDGA number, and the division you wish to compete in for all 4 events. When the funds have been received you will get a conformation email in return.

All Amateur Season Pass holders will receive:

1 entry into the tour banquet (with dinner included)

2 Parks Canada Day Passes

1 Entry in each of the members only special events (June 22nd, July 13th)

Open Season Pass Holders will receive:

2 Parks Canada Day Passes

1 Reserved spot for members only special events (June 22nd, July 13th)

1 Custom B-Line Sticker

1 entry into the tour banquet (with dinner included)

Play for cash at Fundy National Park Event

Members only bonuses for season standings. (Top 3 overall standings in each Open division)

June 22nd special event will take place at Sport Pugwash and will feature a day of disc golf vs soft ball.  Depending on the number of season pass holders teams will be made through a random draw. Activities will take place from 10am - 6pm and a bbq lunch will be available on site.

The July 13th special event will be a brand new golf experience.  We are going to keep it semi-secret for now, but what you need to know is that it will take place roughly between Truro and Halifax and players will play two modified golf games at either 10am, 130pm or 5pm.  Players can pick their tee time and group if they wish and should expect to have about 4 hours of fun.  If space allows players may be able to play twice if they wish.  This will be an epic day of fun, we promise!

The second way to register will be to use discgolfscene.com and sign up for each event individually.  Space will be limited and we fully expect some events to sell out.  Registration will open on the Tuesday closest to 30 days prior to each event.

For Amateurs cost will be: $47 plus discgolfscene fees for Beech Hill and Kings Pine

$57 plus discgolfscene fees for Wentworth

$0 plus discgolfscene fees for Fundy National Park

All players who are 18 years of age or old and wish to play the event at Fundy National Park must purchase Parks Canada Day Passes.

For Beech Hill the players pack is a $30 credit with Chain Reaction

There are no players packs for Fundy National Park

For Kings Pine the players pack include the Saturday and Sunday green fees and a $20 gift certificate to Hand Pie Company

For Wentworth the players pack include the Saturday and Sunday green fees and a Saturday night players banquet and meal.

For Open Players the cost per event will be:

$75 plus discgolfscene fees for Beech Hill and Kings Pine

$85 plus discgolfscene fees for Wentworth

$50 plus discgolfscene fees for Fundy National Park

The same rule applies for Open players as for Am, all players who are 18 years of age or old and wish to play the event at Fundy National Park must purchase Parks Canada Day Passes.

For those of you who are good with math you will notice that a season pass is slightly more expensive than signing up individually.  The main differences with the passes are

  • You get secured spots in each event (we are anticipating at least one sell out)
  • You get more opportunities to win prizes
  • Open players get to play for more cash

As the season unfolds and we gather more sponsors and opportunities season pass holders will also be given some discount codes and access to some unique opportunities.  The more sponsors come on board the better value for season pass holders. For those of you unfamiliar with Flickline events there are a few things you should know.  During round 1 of all events there will be a CTP prize for every card on a designated hole.  For the final round of each tournament the player who wins their card will also win a prize valued at least $20.  Each of our events will feature 3 distinct layouts so that each division has a layout that is both fair and challenging for their skill set. Part of running this tour means that Flickline is going to hold itself to a high standard.  We will have all tournament courses mapped, flagged, and otherwise marked by the Thursday of each event.  Caddy books will be out no later than Tuesday night for each event, and will be updated on Thursday after set up if any outside circumstances force changes to the course.  We will also have a paid staff TD onsite for all of Saturday and Sunday for each event.  This will allow groups to have access to someone who can answer questions or help with rulings.  Each event will also feature some kind of social gathering or ‘extra’ during the weekend.  Details for the social gatherings will be included in the event description that goes out during registration.  The B-Line tour has come together after years of talking to players, running events, and collecting player surveys.  We are always open to ideas on how to make it better or new things we should include.  Don’t forget, these events are all B tiers and as such they require:

  • Must have either a non-playing TD or ATD of record.
  • Current PDGA membership required to compete.
  • Length: 1-2 days
  • Holes: minimum of 36
  • 100% payout of Net Entry Fees plus min. of $750 Cash Added to Pro purse (across all Pro divs)
  • 100% payout of Net Entry Fees to Amateur purse (prizes + player packs)

For our Tour Championship banquet at Ski Wentworth we will have some fun features.  On Saturday night we will have a members only CTP from the deck at Ducky's Pub.  Everyone who holds a tour pass will get one throw to win a variety of prizes.  The grand prize will be a tour pass for the 2026 season.  Other prizes will be added as the season unfolds.

As mentioned above all division winners from each B-line event will receive a special limited edition ‘champ’ disc.  During the tour championship weekend you will have several opportunities to throw this disc to try and win the coveted custom basket.  The more tour stops you win, the more throws you get!

As with many other things we have done in the past, we are excited to try something new for the region. We hope this tour can encapsulate everything we love about disc golf in Atlantic Canada and will continue for years to come.
