Consider this post part one of our big news so far for 2022.
The Flickline Tour, and by extension the 2022 Canadian National Disc Golf Championship, now has a title sponsor! Play It Again Sports - St John's and Thomas Amusements are combining their powers to help produce the best disc golf in Atlantic Canada.
As regular readers of this site will know we were already huge fans of Newfoundland before this announcement, but you could say our support for that province has grown exponentially in the weeks leading up to this.
For players in Newfoundland, this deal is huge. It means that you have a store in the province who is committed to making disc golf a central part of their business model going forward.
For players in the rest of Atlantic Canada, this deal means that payouts and players packs for eight-stop Flickline Tour will be the best they have ever been. You will also see special release discs and unique opportunities created because of this partnership.
For players who are reading this from beyond the Atlantic provinces, this deal means that the Canadian National Disc Golf Championship has taken another step in the right direction. A title sponsor like this allows us to put more energy into the small details that make events of this nature truly fantastic.

Now with all things on this site, let me give you a little insight on the people behind these companies.
Jarrod and Catheryn Thomas are the owners of Thomas Amusements and Play It Again Sports – St. John’s. They have three children, are both avid athletes and sport fans, and their love of sport is what drove them to purchase Play It Again. Jarod is a former hockey player in the Q (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League) and Catheryn is a former basketball standout. Their mission is to support healthy and active lifestyles for residents of Newfoundland. They carry products in the store that cover a wide variety of sports at reasonable prices. As with every Newfoundlander I have met, they are salt of the earth people who seem to be in it for all the right reasons.
Last year when we were building the public course in St. John's, Jarrod was one of the first people to come and see it for himself with his two children. It didn't take him long to see the potential of what disc golf could be on the island. His commitment to the game is on display literally with discs being among the first things that you see when you walk in the door of their store. Their good faith was immediately rewarded where after only a few minutes of stocking their shelves, people were coming in to buy them! I have been around the game long enough to know that this is not always the reaction we get when we reach out to new potential vendors.
Our feeling is that this partnership will be the start of a long and fruitful relationship between disc golf and Play It Again Sports - St John's.
